My Favorite Things

These are a few of my favorite things...

Laura Thomson design
A mini variegated Poinsettia in a terrarium-inspired container.

New dining chairs covered in a warm linen.

A pre-Christmas day trip to visit Mom and Dad in Kennebunkport, and dinner at On the Marsh.

Kennebunkport inspiration to live by... the sea.

Drive-by holiday lights that twinkle.

Beautiful ocean scenes with thoughts of summer.

A family favorite plated and ready to be delivered.

Christmas cookies for the taking...

and presents under the tree.

Until next time...L.

Woodland Magic

Designing a woodland-themed mantel with mercury glass and pewter, is my idea of magical perfection. Staple design elements include nests, mosses and birch; on-hand and ready to assist.

Antique wrought iron candelabras adorn my fireplace, as their silhouettes stand-out against pewter charges and platters of different shapes.

Mercury glass makes a sparkle.

I find the fun, and challenge in decorating during the holiday season is in creating new designs by combining everyday decor, organic inspiration, and favorite holiday decorations that you look forward to displaying year after year. Designing with a sense of tradition, yet with the need to be different.

Until next time...L
