A Tropical Shine

After getting the front entrance to Designer Bath all decked out for the upcoming Designers Shine Awards, it was clear that my current obsession with tropicals would carry through to the inside, as well. Since I'm also on an orange and eggplant kick this summer, I might as well keep the color theme running, too.

Look familiar? I may have used this vase a few times, but who's counting? In keeping things green-friendly at Designer Bath, and knowing that these cylinder vases fit perfectly on their half wall, here we go again. Coming up with a new design while using the same vessel is fun, and I enjoy the challenge of making each design look completely different.

Shades of orange (Designer Bath signature color), with a mix of protea, calla lilies and clementines; and last but not least, the addition of eggplant leucadendron. This color theme was used for my Mom's Kennebunkport window boxes and for my own front stoop. Love it!

Monstera leaves help to balance the tropical vignette, and a piece of driftwood (of course) as the backdrop.

Although I did not attend the event this year, I did hear from numerous social media sources that it was a huge success. I did, however, get a personal phone call from Ralph Sevinor of Designer Bath complimenting me on my designs, and telling me how much the guests loved them. Feedback like that is welcome anytime, thank you. I am also happy to report that this year's winner of the Shine Awards was Kristina Crestin of Kristina Crestin Design. Check out her blog to read about the exciting news, and to view photos of the gorgeous bathroom she designed. I just love the rustic feel of the space she created, and the bold use of color. Congrats to Designer Bath and to Kristina!
